Billy Dunn
Billy Eugene “Gene” Dunn, 77, of Cleveland, passed away on Wednesday, May 12, 2021, at his residence.
He was a 1962 graduate of Bradley High School. Gene was a veteran of the United States Army and served two tours in Vietnam as a combat medic. He retired as a truck driver from Shaw Industries. Gene was a “man’s man” who enjoyed being an outdoorsman, especially hunting.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Linda McDaniel Dunn; parents, Glenn and Sue Knight Dunn; and granddaughter, Shantae Neyman.
Survivors include his children, Janie (Greg) Neyman and Glenn (Shaunda) Dunn, all of Cleveland and Gena Near of Etowah; grandchildren, Olivia Neyman, Frances Dunn and Linda Near; great grandchildren, Maddox Allen and Ryker Laliberte; sisters, Charlotte Holmes, Glenda Reagan and Phyllis Lofty; and several nieces and nephews.
The funeral will be held at 2 p.m. on Sunday, May 16, in the chapel of Fike-Randolph & Son Funeral Home with Pastor Jeanie Cissom officiating. Interment will follow in Sunset Memorial Gardens with military honors and the playing of bagpipes.
His family will receive friends from 5–7 p.m. on Saturday at the funeral home.
