U.S. Army Veteran Retired From The U.S. Post Office

Charles Vernon McDade, 92, of Chattanooga, went to his heavenly home on Monday, June 21, 2021. 

 

Charles graduated from Tyner High School and retired from the U.S. Post Office.  He served in the U.S. Army as a paratrooper and 2nd Lieutenant before being honorably discharged.

 

Charles was preceded in death by his parents, Butch and Pearl McDade, brother BF McDade, and grandchildren Rebecca Meyer Soulia and Benjamin Meyer. 

 

He is survived by his greatest love, his childhood sweetheart, wife Norma Allen McDade, daughter Gail (Steve) Meyer, grandson Eric Meyer, great-grandchildren Morgan and Evan Soulia, siblings Virginia (Sam) McMurray, Priscilla (Don) Oldham, John (Mary) McDade, Don (Patsy) McDade, Bob (Gloria) McDade, and many nieces and nephews.

 

Charles was a loving husband, brother, and grandfather, and loved playing tennis and taking trips.  He was widely read and could discuss almost any topic with anyone. 

 

He will be remembered at a graveside service at the National Cemetery on Monday, June 28, at 1:30 p.m.
