Porky's Open Golf Tournament Postponed

Rainy Weather Pushes Back Date Of The 22nd Porky’s Open

  • Monday, July 19, 2021

Rainy weather continues in Chattanooga. It’s caused the postponement of the Chattanooga Mocs annual Porky’s Open presented by BlueCross BlueShield of Tennessee fund-raising event at Council Fire Golf Club. The event was slated for Tuesday, July 20. It’s now rescheduled for Tuesday, Oct. 19. Council Fire remains host for the event.

Sadly, this year's tournament will be without its founder and namesake, Frank "Porky" Kinser as he passed away in November 2020.

Frank was a loyal supporter of Chattanooga Athletics and was a driving force behind the success of Porky's Open, which has raised more than $1 million to support scholarship for Moc student-athletes.

The tournament has become a premier golf tournament in the Chattanooga community and Chattanooga Athletics is proud to carry on Frank's legacy to bring together supporters for a wonderful day of golf and fellowship. This past year, UTC created the Frank Kinser Porky's Open Endowed Scholarship to provide scholarship support in perpetuity. A portion of the proceeds from Porky's Open is directed to this endowment.
