City of Chattanooga and Moonlight Roller announce Late Sk80s, the second edition of a new roller skating event series on the final Fridays of June, July and August in downtown Chattanooga. Late Skates take place at the Chattanooga Skatepark Roller Rink and include a live DJ, food trucks, drinks from Bitter Alibi, and a vintage pop-up market.
Attendees can bring their own wheels or rent a pair from Moonlight x Mobile (US sizes 1-14 available). While the event series is all-ages and entry is free, rental skates are $7 and skate renters must be 18+ and present a valid ID.
This month’s edition benefits the Chattanooga Community Kitchen. Attendees are encouraged to bring donations for $2 off the cost of rental skates. Acceptable donations include: poison ivy cream, electrolyte drops/powder, clean sleeping bags, new men’s/women’s underwear, sunscreen, and cookie decorating icing tubes.
The event kicks off at 6 p.m. with an Intro to Roller Skating workshop hosted by the Moonlight Roller skate team. The DJ starts at 7 p.m., and the event runs until 11 p.m.
