Two Ooltewah Youth Association (OYA) softball teams are bringing Scenic City style play to the Dizzy Dean World Series in Southaven, Mississippi. The 6u and 8u OYA teams both had successful days on the diamond and kept advancing through bracket play.

Ooltewah turned back the Mississippi State champs thanks to three more home runs today, along with some key defensive plays. The championship game is scheduled for noon CST on Monday against an opponent who will be decided earlier in the day.
The 8u Ooltewah Lady Owls crushed five home runs over two games to continue working their way through their age division bracket. Ooltewah eliminated the Bolivar Tennessee All-stars 13-7 and then sent the Southaven Mississippi All-stars home with a 15-4 victory.
The Lady Owls play the Hernando Mississippi All-stars Monday at 10:30 a.m. CST. A win will advance Ooltewah to the semi-finals against the Saltillo Mississippi All-stars at noon. The winner of that game will play the Eastern Alabama All-stars at 1:30 p.m. for the 8u World Series Championship.
