Viva Amburn
Viva Gay Amburn, 79, of Hixson, Tennessee, went home to be with the Lord at her residence with her family by her side on August 1, 2021. Viva Gay’s death followed an extended battle with heart disease. She will be greatly missed by her family and friends.
She has been a lifelong member of the Church of the Nazarene where she was actively involved in Children’s ministries. Before her passing, she was a member of Grace Church of the Nazarene in Hixson.
She was born on September 5, 1941, to the late Harold and Lear Foster. She was preceded in death by her parents and siblings Marilyn Knight, Wanda Dawn Proctor and Dale Foster.
She is survived by Floyd, her husband of 63 years. She is also survived by her son, Greg (Kim) Amburn; daughter, Melissa (Jimmy) Sloan; granddaughters, Brandi (Shaun) Belk and Rachel Elizabeth Sloan; great granddaughter, Briley Jayne Amburn; brother, Gene (Carolyn) Foster.
The family will receive friends 4-8 p.m. on Wednesday, Aug. 4, and again on Thursday, Aug. 5, from 10-11 a.m. at the Hamilton Funeral Home in Hixson. At 11 a.m., there will be a procession to the cemetery for the graveside service.
The graveside service will begin at 11:30 a.m. on Thursday, Aug. 5, at the Lakewood Memory Gardens (South) with participating ministers: Stephen Deese, Bill Proctor and Jeff Clark.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Grace Church of the Nazarene, Brainerd Hills Baptist Church or Hospice of Chattanooga.
