Peggy Grimes

After a lengthy health battle, Peggy Joyce Grimes, 88, was welcomed to her heavenly home at the pearly gates by her Lord and Savior on Tuesday, September 14, 2021.

She was a resident of Whiteside, TN and of the Christian faith. Peggy was married to the late Billy Jack Grimes. She was born on July 29, 1933, to the late Charles Martin Newman and Maude Denton Newman.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Billy Jack Grimes; parents, Charles and Maude Newman; brother, Paul Newman, Sr.; sisters, Velma Bible, Catherine Miller, Ann Gibson and Betty Sims.

Peggy leaves her years of memories to her sons, Gary (Donna) Grimes, Jack (Chrisann) Grimes and Billy Ray (Maria) Grimes; daughter, Jeannie (Leonard) Hall; 11 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews and years of friends.

She loved more than anything being with her children and grandchildren. She entertained them with riding bicycles, the mule ATV and the scooter. Peggy had the gift of playing the piano, she loved music and was a member of Eastern Star #124. She loved life and it showed in all the love she gave during her lifetime.
