Great Service From The Hamilton County Health Department Hotline - And Response

  • Friday, January 21, 2022

My wife woke up this morning and thought she might have COVID. We called the Hamilton County Heath Department hotline and someone answered on the third ring. Not a voice mail, a real person.

She told us they they were already out of their supply for rapid testing but recommended two pharmacies, one on Highway 58 and one on Hixson Pike. We chose the one on 58.

A pharmacist told us to go outside and call in. About 15 minutes later she came out and administered the test. Another 15 minutes later she came out and told us the test was negative. Very simple, no lines, no red tape.

We did have to pay $40, which of course we didn't mind at all. I understand there is one political group that paying for yourself is a foreign concept with which they are not familiar. But for everyone else it is a simple procedure.

Thanks to the Health Department and the pharmacy for excellent service.

The Health Department hotline is 209-8383.

All that positive energy, reading Douglas Jones opinion piece. Then towards the end he had to go political, attacking 'another political group', causing what should have been a positive message to crash and burn.

Cool! Douglas, your wife test came back negative and 'y'all' could afford the expense. You should have left it at that. Your family, my family can maybe afford 40 bucks for testing. Many families cannot. And that's the "other political groups'" concern. Thank the ancestors there are still those of us, even political groups, with compassion and "concerns" for their fellow man.
