To become a more sustainable company, WanderLinger Brewing has made the commitment to go completely compostable in its taproom. All items used for foodservice, including plates, cutlery, portion cups, paper towels and napkins are now made of 100 percent compostable materials.
Additionally, the brewery has adopted compostable plastic cups for bigger shows, to eliminate oil-based plastics and avoid the safety issues associated with glass during large events.
WanderLinger is partnering with New Terra Compost, a local Chattanooga company committed to keeping waste out of the landfill.
Since opening in 2018, WanderLinger has made several strides towards sustainability--one of its core company values. All the spent grain from the brewing process is given to local farmers for use as cattle feed. The brewery reclaims its cleaning solutions to minimize its water and chemical usage in production and utilizes recycled materials in its canning operations.
Additionally, the company is beginning a monthly “Pickup for a Pint” campaign with TN Brewers Guild and Keep TN Beautiful to clean up local streets, parks and creeks. Now, composting takes things a step further and will help keep hundreds of pounds of refuse per month from making its way to a landfill.
