U.S. Army Veteran Was A Robotic Electrical Engineer

Roger W. Brown, 57, of East Ridge, passed away peacefully form COVID complications on Tuesday, January 25, 2022.

 

Roger grew up in the Fairview, Rossville Community and was a graduate of Rossville High School class of 1982 where he played on the baseball team. He served his country in the U.S. Army as a medical specialist and was honorably discharged. Roger graduated from Kankakee College in Illinois. He enjoyed playing darts and would light up the room when he entered. His family referred to Roger as the “Fun Uncle.” He was employed by Hilex Poly as a robotic electrical engineer.

 

Roger was preceded in death by his parents, Fred and Barbara Brown; brother, Rick Brown; and brother-in-law, Burl Mizell.

 

Survivors include his children: Jacob (Kali), Ryan and Mattie Brown; siblings: Fred (Carolyn) Brown, Patti Mizell, Skip (Denise) Brown, and Mark (Kim) Brown; sister-in-law, Cathy Brown; several nieces and nephews.

 

Funeral services will be held on Monday, Jan. 31, at 6 p.m. in the South Crest Chapel with Minister Mike Angel officiating. Interment will be held on Tuesday, Feb. 1, at 10:30 a.m. in the Chattanooga National Cemetery with military honors.

The family will receive friends on Monday from 1pm until the funeral hour in the South Crest Chapel of Lane Funeral home & Crematory, Rossville.
