Jeryl “Jerry” Lee Niles deSabla
Jeryl “Jerry” Lee Niles deSabla, 87, of Chattanooga, went home to be with her Lord and Savior on Sunday, July 20, 2025.
Jerry was a member of Brainerd Baptist Church and later attended First Centenary United Methodist.
Jerry was preceded in death by her husband of 60 years, Jack Fielding deSabla; a daughter, Kelly Jean deSabla; brother, Richard Leslie Niles; and her parents, Howard Jerome and Nora Kelly Niles.
She is survived by her daughter, Elizabeth Lee Pickering (Charles); son, Joseph Fielding deSabla (Vicki); brother, Gene Niles (Joyce); grandchildren, Whitney Elizabeth Coffelt (Ty); Rachel Lee Cranmore (Jeremy); Madelyn Elizabeth deSabla, Jacob Joseph deSabla; great-grandchildren, Kinslee Elizabeth Coffelt; Jeremy Payton Cranmore; and Samuel Isaiah Cranmore.
Jerry was an incredibly talented musician, showcasing her talent in piano and vocals beginning at the age of 6. Excelling in piano, Jerry later realized her passion for teaching piano to many students. During her years at City High School, she accompanied the choir and was soprano I soloist. Jerry carried on her talent as accompanist for the Scenic City Choral and singing with her beautiful soprano voice, as well as singing and playing piano for Brainerd Baptist Church and First Centenary United Methodist. During her junior and high school years Jerry worked for Helen Wilson Dance Studio accompanying on the piano.
Jerry was proud of her musical accomplishments and was honored when asked to accompany the Scenic City Choral on a trip to Switzerland and Italy where she sang and played piano in an old tabernacle in Italy.
Jerry devoted her whole life to music, family and her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.
A Celebration of Jerry’s life will be held in the East Chapel of Chattanooga Funeral Home on Friday, July 25, at 11 a.m. with Rev. David Musser officiating. The family will receive friends on Thursday, from 6-8 p.m. She will be laid to rest alongside her beloved husband, Jack, in the Forest Hills Cemetery following the service. Pallbearers for the service will be Payton Cranmore, Jeremy Cranmore, Isaiah Cranmore, and Ty Coffelt
