Auburn Stuns Lady Vols, 71-61

  • Thursday, January 27, 2022

Auburn, using a swarming, double-teaming defense forced Tennessee into 20 turnovers and won, 71-61, over the #4 Lady Vols.

The game started with Tennessee 7-0 in the Southeastern Conference and Auburn 0-7.

Tennessee led by a point at the end of the first quarter, but the Tigers outscored the Lady Vols 23-11 in the second quarter.

The Lady Vols seemed on the verge of righting the ship with a 23-11 margin in the third quarter to go ahead.

However, Aicha Coulibaly, who had 26 points for Auburn, led a final Tiger surge to salt the game away.

Jordan Horston had 21 and Jordan Walker 17 for the Lady Vols.

It was the first game for Tennessee since the season-ending injury to post player Keyen Green.
