Racing season is officially upon us as Georgia opened up the annual Super Bowl of Racing weekend at Golden Isle Speedway with the Lucas Oil Dirt Late Model series. Evans, Ga. native Brandon Overton (#76) didn't let an opening night infraction detour his weekend, by coming back the next two races and pocketing over $27,000 in winning prize money.

On Friday, "Big Sexy", the hottest racer in America in 2021 in winning percentages and earnings, dominated the $12,000 feature over Earl Pearson, Jr. of nearby Jacksonville, Fl. before Saturday's $15,000 to-win finale.

Overton had to battle with both Thursday's winner Devin Moran of Ohio and NASCAR's champion Kyle Larson (#6) in from California (podium pic of top three), whom likes to mix it up with his dirt track brethren when not competing in the sports top division.

Overton and dirt late model racers from around the country will be around Georgia and Florida for the next few weeks with daily events starting Monday. Live internet broadcasts can be seen on three networks for subscribers. DirtVision.com covers the World of Outlaws series, MavTV Plus and Lucas Oil Racing TV covers the LODLMS, and Floracing.com covers most other broadcasts.
