Raymond L. Neal of Ooltewah passed away Wednesday, January 5, 2022. He was 88.

Raymond was a loving father, grandfather, great-grandfather, wonderful friend and brother in Christ. He was an avid member of Calvary Life Fellowship Baptist Church.

He was a United States Army Veteran. Raymond was honorably discharged in 1961. He continued his line of work as a military police officer after his discharge and retired in the late 1990's after a lengthy career. He was active in the Tennessee Walking Horse community for many years, winning the World Grand Championship Mare & Foal Class in 1978 with his brother, George Neal, in Shelbyville, TN.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Lela Mae Neal; parents, Darb and Mae Cain Neal; brothers, Fay J., Ray E., and George Neal; sisters, Nanaleen Farmer, Elector Smith, Dortha Wagner, Bonnie Mathis, Donnia Wells, and Elizabeth Osborn.

He is survived by his daughter, Victoria Neal Cranmore (Rick); granddaughters, Courtney (Dustin Pendergrass) Wrinkle and Candice (Zach Fernandez) Wrinkle; three great-grandchildren Raleigh Pendergrass and Aden and Mila Fernandez.

The family will receive friends and family from 10 a.m. until the celebration of life begins at 12 p.m. on Thursday, January 13, 2022, at Heritage Funeral Home 7454 East Brainerd Road, Chattanooga, TN 37421.

Interment will follow immediately after at Chattanooga National Cemetery. In lieu of flowers a memorial contribution may be made to Avalon Health Care.

Arrangements are by Heritage Funeral Home, East Brainerd Chapel.
