Brasstown, NC - "McDaddy" Dale McDowell of Chickamagua, GA came from his tenth starting spot, Thursday night at Ray Cook's Tricounty Racetrack to race past leader Carson Ferguson of NC, and collect the "Tarheel 53" $22,022 prize.
Fergy and McDowell collided briefly in turn one, causing the younger racer to spin and rear a late race caution. McDowell held off Chris Madden and Brandon Overton.
