Ann Conroy Walldorf

Ann Conroy Walldorf (1950- 2022).  On Wednesday morning, October 5, 2022, God called Ann from her earthly haven at the beach to her eternal home with Him in Heaven.

She was born on February 17, 1950, to Betty and William Conroy. She was a graduate of Fairyland Elementary, GPS, and the University of Tennessee Knoxville, from which she obtained a BA in Education. She last taught at East Lake Jr. High and continued to mentor her former students.  She was married for 38 years to Rudy Walldorf.

Her volunteer service to all facets of Chattanooga life was lifelong. She was happiest when she was helping others.

Her past service includes President of the Chattanooga Junior League (CLJ) and of the CLJ Garden Club, and President of the Kidney Foundation.  At the time of her death she was on the Board of the Little Brown Church (Signal Mountain) and had previously been its first female Superintendent. She a longtime  active member of the Court Appointed Special Advocate (CASA) Board.  She had served the CHC Bicentennial Library (Board Member), the Chattanooga Review Book Club (President) and the National Society of Colonial Dames (Member).

To First Presbyterian Church she continuously devoted herself.  Her current positions were Chairman of the Widow’s Ministry, TLC Meals, Visitation Team and Co-chair of the Bereavement Team. Rudy loved her ministry of preparing meals for others because he knew he would eat well that night.

Her love for family is illustrated by her perennial “Auntian” license plate.  Spoiling her nieces and nephews was only superseded by spoiling her grandchildren and especially spoiling her beloved husband, Rudy, whom she knew doted on spoiling her as well.

Surviving family are: sons, Chad Walldorf (Jena) and children, Kate, Evie, and Wills, Jeff Walldorf (Beth) and daughters, Alyssa and Maura, and Chris Walldorf (Alexia) and children, Stellan and Cora; Ann’s brother: Pat Conroy (Angie), and children Will Conroy (Betsy), Iz Conroy Cannon (Marc) , Katy Conroy Honnet (Alex) as well as Jay Moore (Lisa) , Charlie and Carrie Moore (Carrie), and Davis and Alli  Moore (Ali); sister-in-law: Eunie Walldorf Smith and children Karen Smith, and Meg Smith Wallace (Jason) and Amanda Jeffries Smith (Albert); brother-in-law: Charlie Walldorf (Catherine) with children Will Walldorf (Jennifer), Polly Walldorf Tran, Nathan Walldorf (Eda), and Sarah Walldorf McNabb (Scott); Ann’s special cousins: Mrs. Nancy Lewis and Mrs. B Vaughn.

Ann was known by her neighbors as the consummate mail order shopper and a sun worshipper.  Now her family knows that she is reveling in the radiance and in her worship of her Lord and his only begotten Son, her Savior Jesus Christ.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks for donations to Little Brown Church or First Presbyterian Church Chattanooga.

Visit www.heritagebattlefield.com to share condolences with the family.

A celebration of her life will be held on Friday, Oct. 14, at First Presbyterian Church Chattanooga with visitation at 10:30 a.m. and the service at 11:30 a.m.

Arrangements are by Heritage Funeral Home & Crematory, Battlefield Parkway.
