Dean Moorhouse has been serving our community for over 28 years. I first met Dean in the fall of 2018. It was a time many of us will never forget. It was a few days after a surprise zoning notice had been posted to build a sewage plant literally in our community’s back yard. Our neighbors were caught off guard; it was paralyzing. The news brought panic, then outrage, then a feeling of helplessness of what we all knew would be inevitable, the building of the most vile structure proud home owners could experience.
Enter Dean Moorhouse…..Dean entered the storm, and at the most frightful and confusing moments.
He organized us, focused our fear into positive energy, and created a powerful and united force to fight for the preservation of our community. It was during this time that I witnessed first-hand, up-close, and at times some very personal moments, the strength of Dean’s quiet leadership. For several months, Dean worked every waking hour organizing the community, cultivating volunteers from the community with expertise, creating a winning strategy, and above all, tentatively listening to his neighbors. In return, Dean offered compassion, hope, courage, strength, and above all, faith. With his wife Robbi proudly by his side, Dean lifted us up and supported a community that never gave up. I was present during many of his calls and attended all of those meetings. I have witnessed and experience the strength of Dean Moorhouse’s leadership.
In reflection, I don’t ever recall seeing or hearing from Dean’s current opponent for County Commission during those strenuous times. In fact, at the first debate for County Commission - District 10, Dean’s opponent voiced his approval for such a project. He views such a project as growth and progress. That statement brought back a rush of negative emotions from September 2018.
Early voting ends April 28. Please reward Dean Moorhouse with the support of your vote for County Commission - District 10.
