Collins, Marjorie Dean "Bootsy" (Georgetown)
Marjorie Dean “Bootsy” Collins, 89, of Georgetown, went home to be with the Lord on Sunday, April 24, 2022 at her residence.
She was born on Jan. 27, 1933, in Big Spring, Tn., to the late James Lester and Anna Jean Grubb. She was a faithful member of the Burdette Baptist Church and retired from the American Uniform Company with 42 years of service.
She was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 67 years: Harry N. Collins, Sisters: Myra Nell (Dan) Taylor, Jean (Jack) Jolley, and Carolyn (John) Redman, a brother: Pete Grubb, and a sister-in-law: Nellie Grubb.
She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law: Debbie Collins (Barrion) Williford of Georgetown, a sister: Brenda (Billy) Skinner of Decatur, brothers: Phillip (Carol) Grubb of Georgetown, a sister-in-law: Joy Grubb of Oak Ridge, Loving friends: Juanita Evans, David and Sue Evans, and B.J. Murray, several nieces, nephews, and other extended family.
A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, April 26, at 2 p.m. at Burdette Baptist Church with the Rev. David Evans and the Rev. Ray Edwards officiating. Interment will follow in the Beta Cemetery with Jim Grubb, Timmy Taylor, Marc Skinner, Phil Grubb, Roy Aikman, Bryan Dixon, Phillip Grubb, and Don Grubb serving as pallbearers and Bill Skinner serving as an honorary pallbearer.
The family will receive friends from 12-2 p.m., prior to the service at the church.
