Kenneth Eugene “Kenny” Brown, 72, of Decatur, went home to his Heavenly Father on Sunday morning, May 15, 2022 at his home. He was a loved husband, father, brother, uncle and son of the late Leon Brown and Demma Lee Moore Brown. He is a veteran of the United States Army and served in the Vietnam War. He loved playing golf, softball and cards. He also enjoyed watching all sports, and was an avid Tennessee Vols and Atlanta Braves fan.

Other than his parents he is preceded in death by his brother, Lonnie Brown; brothers-in-law, David Carter and Richard Watson; and his four-legged buddy, Mojo.

He is survived by his loving wife, Bobbie Cartwright Brown; son, Greg Brown and his four-legged baby, Hot Rod; sisters, Jane Walker Eldridge (J.C.) and Faye Carter Schrenkel (John); aunts, Catherine Moore, Sammie Singleton (Wayne) and Betty Brown; along with many other family members and friends.

The family will receive friends in the Athens Chapel of Companion Funeral Home, 400 South White St., Athens, Tn. 37303 on Wednesday, May 18 from 5-7 p.m. The Celebration of Kenny’s life will be held at 1 p.m. on Thursday, May 19 at the funeral home, with the Rev. Keith Watson officiating. Interment will immediately follow the service at the Decatur City Cemetery. His nephews and grand-nephews will be serving as pall bearers, Rick Hill, Travis Brown, Cody Brown, Dalton Baker, Jacob Fugate and Landon Ware.
