Nicholas Elmo Burkett
Nicholas Elmo Burkett, 66, of East Ridge, passed away on May 14, 2022, surrounded by family.
Nicholas was born on May 25, 1955, to the late Joseph and Ruby Burkett. He was also preceded in death by his brother, Timothy Burkett.
He was a mechanic for Elmore’s Service Center in East Ridge for many years. Nick was a member of the Our Lady of Perpetual Help parish. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus and a member of the Sons of the American Legion.
Nick is survived by his wife, Marilyn Burkett; his daughter, Barbie Bass (Sonny Bass); his grandson, Devon Bailey; his great-grandaughter, Kiayah Jade Bailey; his brother, Robin Burkett; and several nieces and nephews.
The family would like to thank Dr. Davey Daniels and the staff at Tennessee Oncology as well as long-time friends Tammy and Bubba Pittman for all of their care and support through his journey.
A memorial service will be held at 7 p.m. on Monday, May 23, at Chattanooga Funeral Home - East Chapel with Father Mike Nolan and Kary Varnell officiating.
A visitation will be held from 5-7 p.m., prior to services at the funeral home.
