Swante Matt “Swany” Holappa, 71, our beloved husband, father and grandfather, died peacefully on May 16, 2021 in a Cleveland hospital. He was a resident of Decatur. Swany was born in Minnesota on July 26, 1950.
Swany is dearly missed by his loving and devoted wife of 45 years, Bea Holappa; his son and best friend, Heath Holappa; selfless daughter-in-law, Annette Holappa; his adoring daughter, Britt Baker; son-in-law, Matt Baker; and the one who filled his soul and bound his heart, granddaughter, Izzy Bay Baker.
The family will receive friends on Friday, May 20 from 2-4 p.m. in the Athens chapel of Companion Funeral Home, 400 S. White Street in Athens.
