Dalton State Golfers Runner Ups At NAIA Golf National Championship

 The #8-ranked Dalton State went toe-to-toe with #1 Keiser (Fla.) but it wasn't enough as the Roadrunners had to settle for the runner-up position at the NAIA Men's Golf National Championship at TPC Deere Run in Silvis, Ill on Friday.
 
#1 Keiser (Fla.) and #8 Dalton State shot the two best rounds of the day at 287 (+3) and 288 (+4) respectively to finish as the only two teams under par at 1130 (-6) and 1133 (-3) overall. #14 Bellevue (Neb.) stayed 3rd at 1148 (+12) with #10 Houston-Victoria (Texas.) moving up to 4th at 1155 (+19).
#5 Ottawa (Ariz.) rounding out the top-5 at 1157 (+21).

Steve Kibare and Matthew Cleary finished tied for 5th overall after firing rounds of 70 (-1) and 71 (E) respectively. Trevor Bassett finished tied for 13th overall after a round of 74 (+3). Kibare, Cleary and Bassett all made the all-tournament team.
 
Cole Wentworth polished off a solid round of 73 (+2) with a key birdie on No. 18. Tyler White carded a round of 75 (+4) to finish off his tournament. White and Wentworth placed tied for 32nd and 59th respectively.
 
Following the conclusion of the tournament, Matthew Cleary was announced to the PING All-American 1st team by the GCAA.
