Jerry Henderson
Jerry Lebron Henderson, 63, formerly of Chattanooga, passed away on Wednesday, June 29, 2022, in a Memphis, Tennessee hospital.
He was a 1977 graduate of Riverside High School and later attended Morristown College. Jerry was a faithful member of New Anointing Pure Holiness Church of God. He was formerly employed with the Chattanooga Choo-Choo and AccuCast of Chattanooga. After relocating to Memphis, Tennessee, Jerry was a dedicated Deputy Sheriff of the Crittenden County Sheriff’s Department and Detention Center in West Memphis, Arkansas. He was remembered during his youth as the “mad scientist”, an artist, love and loyalty to family and friends.
Jerry was preceded in death by his parents, Nathaniel “Billy” Banks and Isabel “Bell” Henderson.
Survivors include his wife, Angela Regina Henderson; two stepsons, Reginald Wyatt, Jr. and Marcus Henry, all of Chattanooga; two daughters, Delisa Henderson of Chattanooga and Princess Henderson; grandson, Je’son Everhart of Ringgold, GA; brothers, Maurice (Marcella) Nelms of Chattanooga and Stacy (Sharon) Banks of Clanton, AL; sisters, Sharon (Henderson) Hunt, Charlotte (Ricky) Hardaway, both of Chattanooga, and Tawana Banks of Clanton, AL; niece, Richarra Hardaway; nephews, Eric (Tomicka) McClendon, Howard Nelms, Hamilton Nelms, and Matthew Nelms, all of Chattanooga; a host of other nieces; nephews; cousins; other relatives; devoted friends, Connie Grayson, Harley Mitchell and other friends.
Jerry will lie in state on Saturday, July 23, from 12:30-5 p.m. at Taylor Funeral Home.
Funeral services will be on Sunday, July 24, at 1 p.m. in the chapel with Minister Ricky Hardaway as the eulogist.
Burial will be on Monday, July 25, at 11 a.m. in Highland Memorial Gardens.
