Look Carefully At Each School Board Candidate And Their Party Affiliation

  • Monday, July 11, 2022

The progressive crowd is claiming a Hamilton County School policy was violated because a candidate for school board organized a forum for candidates at Ooltewah High School. That policy states, according to the report, a school board member is not allowed to represent partisan politics (WTVC, Jamya Reed).

State law has changed this year and for the first time candidates for school board in Tennessee must declare a party affiliation or if they are an independent. So it’s not a violation when candidates are partisan and when Walker isn’t on the board yet.

One reason the law changed is this: under the guise of non-partisan, clever social activists got elected to school boards. They could enact controversial policies before parents realized what happened. Then came at-home learning and for many, the results of their plans were uncovered.

One such policy is APEX. It’s not a custom development platform or a thrill ride at Universal. It’s a social engineering scheme that fizzled here a few years ago from lack of support. Now progressives want to dredge it up again. With their APEX, everything would be probed through the lens of equity-an intentionally indefinite term. We have seen communities divided and conflicts occur when things like this are conjured up.

Look carefully this year at each candidate for school board and their party affiliation. Ask candidates to define equity or CRT. That should make it clear what their agenda really is.

I applaud Mr. Walker and Moms for Liberty for wanting to inform as many voters as possible what progressives don’t want you to know.
