The Outlaw Sprint Cars of the USCS series took to Boyd's Speedway, in front of a large crowd, Friday night, a week late due to Mother Nature's domination last weekend.

Arkansas' Jordan Mallett (#14) raced from 5th to the lead in the 30 lap Main Event, racing past "The Original Outlaw" Terry Gray of West Tennessee.

In the Late Model feature, two-time Dirt Track World Champion Ronnie Johnson (#5) held off Crate racer Ethan Hunter of Harrison for the win.

Chattanooga's Booger Brooks won another 602/Sportsman feature.

Racing returns in two weeks to Boyd's Speedway on Friday night, July 29, as the Topless Outlaw Late Model series invades for a $3,000 to win race.

Louden, TN's Cory Hedgecock (#23) picked up a $10,053 payday in West Virginia Friday night as the Southern Nationals series kicked off at Beckley Motorsports Park. Hedgecock inherited the lead when flat tires hindered the front runners. Johnson City's Jensen Ford was second to Hedgecock. Chickamauga's Dale McDowell was 6th overall.

Saturday the series heads to Wytheville, Va., just outside Bristol, Tn. for another $10,053 race.

The "Georgia Giant" Shane Clanton (#25) of Locust Grove won Friday's World of Outlaw Late Model series race in South Dakota worth $10,000. Clanton held off current WoOLM points leader Dennis Erb, Jr. and Tennessean Mike Marlar.

Saturday races around the Tennessee Valley and North Georgia areas include: I-75 Raceway in Sweetwater, Mountain View Raceway in Dayton and North Georgia Speedway in Dalton/Chatsworth.
