U.S. Army Veteran Retired From Vesicol And Was Avid Outdoorsman

Kenneth S. Cox, 86, of Fort Oglethorpe, Georgia, passed away on Sunday, August 7, 2022. 

Kenneth was born in Chattanooga, to the late Mr. Adolphus Cox and Mrs. Isabell Patterson Cox on April 17, 1936.

Kenneth was a true patriot, serving his country in the United States Army and retired from Vesicol after many years of service. He was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed hunting and fishing. Kenneth loved being at the homestead, Over Home.  Kenneth loved his family and most of all, he loved being Poppy to his grandchildren and great grandchildren.  His great sense of humor and love for his family will surely be missed by all those who knew and loved him. 

Kenneth was preceded in death by his parents.

He is survived by his wife of 68 years, Joyce Hagewood Cox, Danny (Pam) Cox, Keena (David) Barnes, and Rhonda (Jason) Harp, grandchildren; Daniel Cox, Sarah Gill and Jordan Clementson, and great grandchildren; Hunter Lee and Benjamin Cox, Josephine, Jett , and Jewel Gill, and Jaxon Clementson.

A graveside service for Kenneth will be conducted at the Chattanooga National Cemetery on Friday, Aug. 12, at 1:30 p.m. with military honors rendered.

The family will receive friends at Lane Funeral Home and Crematory South Crest Chapel on Friday, August 12, from 11 a.m. until 1 p.m.
