Once again the "Newport Nightmare" Jimmy Owens raced to his second consecutive World of Outlaws Late Model Series victory of 2022 Friday night at the Boyd's Speedway in Chattanooga/Ringgold.
The Newport, Tennessean lead the entire race again for the $10,000 payday, piloting his Ramirez Motorsports # 20 "Reece Monument, Boomtest Well Services, Tim Short Auto Group, Red Line Oil" sponsored Vic Hill Race Engines/Rocket Super Late Model racecar. Owens turned back challenges from second finishing Max Blair, a rookie on the tour from Pennsylvania.
Fan favorite Dale McDowell of Chickamauga was third, with Tanner English of Kentucky and Chris Madden of South Carolina rounding out the top five finishers.
Local Alabama racer Sam Seawtight and Crossville TN's second generation racer Cameron Weaver both made the 24 car starting field finishing 16th and 22nd respectfully.
Boyd's Speedway hosts night #2 of the "Worlds Most Powerful Late Models on the Planet" Saturday night and tickets are still available at the front gate off of Scruggs Road near Hwy 41. DirtVision.com has the coverage live on the internet for subscribers.
