P. DeVan Curry
Peterious DeVan Curry passed away on Sunday, October 8, 2023.
He was born on March 20, 1973, in Birmingham, Al., to the union of Bishop Eddie and Mrs. Mollie Curry. He is the seventh child of eight children born to this union. He was preceded in death by both parents, Bishop and Mrs. Eddie Curry, and both sets of grandparents, Deacon and Mrs. I.E. Danzy and Mr. and Mrs. Willie Curry. DeVan gave his life to the Lord at an early age, was baptized, and joined the Church of God of Prophecy where his membership remained. Serving others and the Lord gave him great joy.
As a graduate of the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga and Georgia State University, he earned a bachelor’s and master’s degree in Biology, Psychology, and Bio-Terrorism. Utilizing his advanced degrees and certifications, as an entrepreneur, he created several companies and his latest venture was a boutique small business firm that not only supported businesses from inception but throughout all facets of development and expansion by Putting Legs Under Their Vision. DeVan’s unique vision for business growth and development enabled businesses to realize multiple levels of success. DeVan loved spending time with family and friends commemorating each occasion with fun and candid pictures. Giving thoughtful and personal gifts as well as lifting spirits with laughter were his ways of showing love.
He leaves to cherish and celebrate his life four brothers: Rev. Dr. Eduardo and Mrs. Tamara Curry (Eduardo II (Jennifer), Morgan Curry Brown (Jordan), and Xavier; Mrs. Acquila (Danny) Young (D”Leon (Karina), Janson (Taiya)); Dr. Marthel (William) Young; Pastor Kenardo (Ivy) Curry (Mikayla, Kyla); Mr. Delrika (Naomi) Curry (Giovanna, Gabriela); Mrs. Callie (Derrick) Stewart (Garrison, Jamie, Derrick, Jr, Justin); Mr. Eudreon (Tasha) Curry (King, Winter, Ever, Coral, Love Marie, and Bloom); as well as a host of great nieces, nephews, very close cousins, aunts, uncles, and very close friends who all loved him dearly.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Friday, Oct. 20, at 1 p.m. at Fellowship at the Loop at 1724 Chickamauga Loop in Chattanooga, Tn. 37421.
