The Junior League of Chattanooga announces two community events taking place during the 2023-2024 league year.
"These events would not be possible without the support of our annual sponsors," officials said. "Thank you for the early commitment from our diamond sponsor Environmental Solutions Groups, as well as AT&T, EPB, Fowler Brothers Company Home and Patio and Tomahawk Crane and Rigging."
“We are so grateful to the many sponsors who come alongside the Junior League of Chattanooga to help us be agents for change in the community,” said JLC President Mikaya Knight.
“This year we are looking forward to continuing our League of Learners initiative by hosting both Touch-A-Truck and bringing back Tour du Jour.”
The Junior League of Chattanooga’s A League of Learners initiative is focused on fostering lifelong learners in the Chattanooga community. Junior League supports Hamilton County’s schools, teachers, children and adults through funding for special projects and partnerships with other local organizations to provide an active volunteer base.
The Junior League of Chattanooga invites members of the Chattanooga community to the annual Touch-A-Truck event in Warner Park on Saturday, Nov. 11. "With over 20 trucks committed to attend, this event is sure to be a fun and an educational opportunity for children of all ages," officials said. "Touch-a-Truck Chattanooga is a family-friendly, hands-on event that offers opportunities for children to explore, climb, and touch trucks of all kinds, including emergency response vehicles, heavy machinery and other equipment. We would like to thank the following Chattanooga businesses who have already committed to the event: Gabe Whitmer Team - First Bank, Gerdau Chattanooga, Pediatric Dentistry & Orthodontics of Chattanooga, Scout Counseling, Splash Smiles and Shaw Industries. Thanks to these sponsors, no family attending the event will pay more than $20 to enter, regardless of the amount of children or family members.
"Last spring, JLC hosted our last League on the Links tournament as that fundraising event has been retired. In its place, the Junior League of Chattanooga is very excited to welcome back Tour du Jour. This event is a community home tour that will take place on May 11, 2024, a perfect Mother’s Day weekend activity. Tour du Jour will highlight the impressive and creative efforts of area homebuilders and remodelers in several homes around Chattanooga. Ticket information will be available in the coming months by visiting jlchatt.org."
