Beverly Horner Winkler
In loving memory, we celebrate the life of Beverly Horner Winkler, born on July 18, 1943, in the town of Johnson City, Tennessee. She was the cherished daughter of Newman and Cora Daisy Horner, a true gem of their lives.
Beverly was a paragon of love, compassion, and family devotion, and a beautiful woman inside and out, whose heart was a haven that she filled with those she loved most dearly. For 61 years, she stood side by side with her beloved husband, Ken Winkler, and together, they raised two remarkable children, Kathy and Kenny.
Beverly cherished her roots and spent most of her time in Johnson City and Wytheville, Va., before finding her way to Chattanooga. She graduated from Central High School in 1961, where her spirit and vivacity shone as a high school cheerleader and a proud member of the Anchors Aweigh social club. Her dedication to her community shone brightly in her 20-year tenure as a LPN, where she worked closely with several esteemed doctors in the Chattanooga area. In partnership with her sister, Betty, she co-owned the charming florist business, "Beautiful Bouquet," where her creativity and passion for flowers brought joy to countless lives.
One of Beverly's greatest joys in life was her boundless wanderlust and her deep passion for travel, which she shared with her husband and her beloved sisters, Edna and Betty. Together, they embarked on countless journeys to explore historical and antique treasures scattered across the country, creating cherished memories that now serve as a testament to the depth of their sisterly bond.
She is remembered not only for her remarkable life, but also for her unwavering passion as an avid Tennessee fan, as she cheered on the Volunteers and attended numerous games alongside her dearest loved ones.
As we bid farewell to Beverly, we hold close not just her extraordinary life, but also the immeasurable and boundless love and warmth she shared with us all. Her legacy will forever endure in the hearts of those she touched, and her memory will continue to inspire us to live with the same grace, compassion, and unwavering devotion that defined her life's journey. Beverly's presence will be deeply missed, but her spirit will forever live on in the stories and memories we hold dear.
Beverly is preceded in death by her parents, Newman and Cora Daisy Horner, as well as her twin sister, Betty Dillard.
She is survived by her husband, Ken Winkler of Chattanooga; her daughter, Kathy Winkler of Kennesaw, Ga.; her son, Kenny Winkler of Kennesaw; her sister, Edna Woods of Kennesaw; and several nieces, nephews, grandnieces, and grandnephews.
Her inurnment will be in the Chattanooga National Cemetery. A Celebration of Life will be held at a date to be announced later.
