Cairns Named Membership VP For Chattanooga Chamber Of Commerce

Ben Cairns has been promoted to Vice President Membership & Investor Services for the Chattanooga Chamber of Commerce.

Mr. Cairns – who began his Chamber career in 2018 – said his goal is to provide “a world-class membership experience.”

“This is a tremendous opportunity to be actively involved in the economic growth of this outstanding and vibrant city,” he said. “I am committed to using my talents to deepen my engagement with the Chamber and elevate our game.”

The Chattanooga Chamber, one of the first chambers formed in the U.S., now has a membership of nearly 1,800 companies. 

“This is great news for Chattanooga and for our members,” said Charles Wood, Chattanooga Chamber President and CEO. “Since joining the Chamber team, Ben has steadily been using his talents. Our members are in the best of hands with Ben, who cares deeply about the economic success of this region and our Chamber members.”

Mr. Cairns began his Chamber career as a Senior Account Executive, then was promoted to Director of Member and Investor Relations. Previously, he served as Executive Director of The Alexian Grove, promoted there within two years of being hired for Sales and Member Relations for the Alexian Brothers Live At Home ProgramHis background includes consulting, professional coaching, overseas work, writing and lecturing.

“Ben is in the relationship business,” Mr. Wood said. “Chattanoogans are drawn to him because he’s personable, trustworthy, inviting, professional and demonstrates an inherent understanding of the demands, pressures and joys of owning, managing and operating a business. Chattanooga is fortunate to have him.”

Mr. Cairns calls his management style “inclusive and collaborative” and named two immediate goals:

  • Working with teams to provide high-quality membership experiences
  • And maximizing the economic success of Chamber member businesses

“The overarching passion that runs through all my professional experience is the desire to help people achieve success,” he said. “I am honored to work with Chattanooga Chamber members to make their businesses more engaged and successful.”
