Fun-Loving Person Was Loved By Everyone

Dorothy Maddox, affectionately known as Dois, 71, of Chattanooga, passed away on Wednesday, December 6, 2023.

She attended Riverside High School. She was known for ability to cook and worked for many companies in the Chattanooga area. Dorothy attended Trinity Baptist Church where she married Charles Maddox, Sr. Dois was a fun loving person that never met a stranger and was loved by everyone. She deeply loved her family, and they loved her. Dorothy enjoyed watching classic television shows, movies, game shows, being outdoors, eating out, and ultimately being with family and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Jathan and Hattie Mae Roberson; brothers, Jathan Roberson, Jr. and Robert L. Roberson.

Survivors include her son, Charles (Amanda) Maddox, Jr.; daughter, Tyra Roberson; grandchildren, Rodney Roberson, Traviyell Townsend, and Mahogeny Smith; great-grandchildren, NcAllah Roberson, and Ashton Roberson; brother, Elbert (Maxine) Robbinson; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, close family friends.

She will lie in state on Saturday, Dec. 16, at 9 a.m. at Taylor Funeral Home.

Funeral services will follow at noon in the chapel with Brother John R. Taylor, Sr. as the eulogist.

Burial will be on Monday, Dec. 18, at 10 a.m. at Forest Hills Cemetery.
