the many buffet food displays.
The Chattanooga Outpatient Clinic on Shallowford Road was the location for the annual Christmas
Party held Thursday, December 7th , presented to incoming patients co-sponsored by members of
Colonial Dames XVIIC (Seventeenth Century); TNDAR (Tennessee Daughters of the American
Revolution) and TNSSAR (Tennessee Society Sons of the American Revolution). The party area
was festive with an assortment of delights: trays of meats, cheeses, crackers, fruits; and displays
of desserts.
Distributed by a Colonial Dames member to Veterans were original embroidered stars from
discarded U.S. Flags, packaged with the message: “I am a STAR from a tattered, faded and worn
flag that was ready to be retired. Because of YOU, I was able to fly over the land of the free. Now I
am a treasure given to you by a grateful citizen who honors your service and your sacrifice.”
Colonial Dames XVIIC’s Prudhomme Fort Chapter was represented along with DAR Chapters:
Chickamauga, Chief John Ross, Judge David Campbell, Nancy Ward and Moccasin Bend; and John
Sevier Chapter SAR members who also participated in greeting Veterans.
