Geneva Dowdy
Geneva Dowdy, PE, has joined Barge Design Solutions, as a Knoxville-based Traffic Engineer focused on providing solutions to enhance mobility across Tennessee and the Southeast.
"I am thrilled to be joining the Barge Team and continue serving Tennessee,” said Ms. Dowdy.
“Community is vital to our work in the transportation industry, and I am excited to invest in the growth
of this state and the Southeast.”
The University of Tennessee graduate brings specialized experience in traffic operations and
transportation planning, including Vision Zero Quick-Build Implementation Safety Plans and
Tennessee Department of Transportation’s Local Programs projects for cities and municipalities
throughout Middle and East Tennessee. In addition, Dowdy’s experience includes ITS communication design, signal timing optimization, traffic signal design, road safety audits, traffic impact studies and corridor studies.
Mark Washing, director of Traffic Engineering Services, said, “We’re happy to welcome Geneva to
our growing Traffic/ITS/Planning Team in the southeast. Her level of experience will help us continue
providing our clients with the transportation solutions our communities need most.”
Ms. Dowdy received a Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering from the University of Tennessee. She is a licensed professional engineer in Tennessee and has been actively involved in the Tennessee Section of the Institute of Transportation Engineers.
