James Powers, 75, passed away on March 20, 2023, in Chattanooga, Tennessee.

He was born on May 14, 1947, to the late Willard and Beulah Powers.

James was a United States Marine Corps veteran, and a Vietnam Service veteran. While serving our country he received the Vietnam Service Medal, The National Defense Service Medal, The Vietnam Campaign Medal, The Combat Action Ribbon, and the Good Conduct Medal. He was proud to have served our country.

James was an avid outdoorsman. He loved hunting, fishing, and spending time with his friends. He loved his kids (pets) Queenie who passed before him, Bella, and Simon.

James was preceded in death by his brother, Randy Powers, and his sister, Peggy Rasnake.

He is survived by his loving wife of 26 years, Sharon Powers; children, Pam (Kevin) Sluder, Jason (Angela) Powers, Cyndi Thompson, step-sons: Steve and Mike Luera, 15 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren; brothers, Robert (Mae) Powers, Ben (Trish) Powers, Roger (Jan) Rasnick, and Tim Thompson.

The family will have a Celebration of Life in Virginia at a later date.
