Retired After 20 Years With EPB And Had A Great Sense Of Humor

Doris Broadnet Bell, 67, loving mother of three, Tandra Bell, Eddie Bell, Jr., and Lenise Bell, and loving partner of Ernest Jones, passed away on Sunday morning, March 26, 2023, surrounded by loving family and friends.

Doris Broadnet Bell was born on Aug. 31, 1955, in Chattanooga, Tn., to Oddric Ford Sr. (father) and Mentory Ford (mother), the second eldest of five children, George Ford (Georgia Ford), Angela Jones (Sam Jones), Oddric Ford Jr. (Barbara Ford) and Ruby Ford.

Doris was a loving grandmother to Desiree Bell, Jasmine Easting, Jada Moore (Aaron Moore), London Gordon, and great-grandmother to Ramii Davenport, Ashton Robinson, and Zaya Moore.

Doris was a proud, adored, and valuable employee of EPB for over 20 years and retired there. She loved her EPB family.

Doris was very loving, outgoing, fierce, and had a great sense of humor. She enjoyed cooking, crocheting, bowling, dancing, and music. She was able to light up a room with her smile and personality.

She was preceded in death by her father, Oddric Ford Sr., and mother, Mentory Ford.

Doris is survived by her life partner, Ernest Jones; her children, Tandra Bell, Eddie Bell Jr., and Lenise Bell; grandchildren, Desiree Bell, Jasmine Easting, Jada Moore (Aaron Moore), London Gordon; great-grandchildren, Ramii Davenport, Ashton Robinson, and Zaya Moore; siblings, George Ford (Georgia Ford), Angela Jones (Sam Jones), Oddric Ford Jr. (Barbara Ford), and Ruby Ford.

The family would like to extend a special thanks to Hospice of Chattanooga, Karen, LaTondra, Bill, and Dub. Accent Home Health; Ashley and Makayla. We deeply appreciate the care and love you all provided.

Celebration of life for Doris Bell will be held at V Francis at 6925 Shallowford Road, Chattanooga, Tn. 34721 at 3 p.m. on Saturday, April 8.
