Kay Murray Kington, 74, of Hixson, passed away on Sunday, April 30, 2023, at her home of pancreatic cancer while under hospice care.

Born in Cleveland, Ms. Kington has lived in Chattanooga for most of her life.

She retired from the Hamilton County School System after 30 years of service beginning her career at Chattanooga High School in the Business Education and Counseling Dept. then moving to Brainerd High school as school counselor.

She is survived by her husband of 52 years, David Kington; sister, Kathy (Steve) Harrell, McDonald, Tn.; two brothers, Harvey (Maxine) Murray, Chattanooga and Howell “Bud” (Valerie) Murray, East Ridge; aunt, Shirley Fowler, Harrison; and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held at 12:30 p.m. on Wednesday, May 3, in the funeral home chapel with Rev. Fred Russell officiating. Burial will follow at the Chattanooga National Cemetery.
