Wild Kratts: Ocean Adventure! Exhibit Opens At Creative Discovery Museum On May 20

  • Wednesday, May 10, 2023

Wild Kratts: Ocean Adventure!, an interactive exhibit based on the popular PBS Kids series, will open at Creative Discovery Museum on May 20. In this exhibit – created by Minnesota Children’s Museum in collaboration with the Kratt Brothers Company – kids and families explore three animal habitats and the creatures within them.

“We are delighted to bring Wild Kratts to Chattanooga,” said Henry Schulson, president and CEO of CDM. “Their shows are loved by so many children and provide a wonderful appreciation for the environment and earth’s creatures. This hands-on exhibit will be a wonderful way to introduce children to ocean habitats and a great complement to the incredible marine animals you see at our neighbor, the Tennessee Aquarium.”

The Wild Kratts: Ocean Adventure! exhibit is presented locally by Tennessee American Water.

Bringing Wild Kratts to Life

This adventurous exhibit, which focuses on cultivating STEM skills in children ages 3 to 9, invites kids and families to explore animal habitats from around the globe, discover incredible creature powers, and go on a mission to foil the villains’ nefarious plans.

“This exhibit will get kids moving and thinking while they explore important concepts in science and the natural world,” said Chris Kratt, executive producer of Wild Kratts and co-founder of The Kratt Brothers Company.

Visitors will explore the following three animal habitats:

· Seashore

· Shallow Sea

· Deep Sea

Kids and families will get the chance to learn about and try out various Creature Powers such as:

· Crawl through an anemone and hunt for lunch like a lobster

· Create your own dolphin name

· Roll up your sleeves and get to work at a shark cleaning station

· Hunt like a dragonfish in the dark depths of the sea

· And much more.

Opening Schedule

Wild Kratts: Ocean Adventure! will open at CDM on May 20 with a member morning from 8:30– 10 a.m. before opening to general admission guests at 10 a.m. This member morning event will feature a variety of complementary activities and exclusive access for members to enjoy the new exhibit. The Giant Jelly will make an appearance at the event, and the Tennessee Aquarium will bring an animal ambassador to interact with members. In addition, the Tennessee Aquarium is opening their new IMAX movie, Secrets of the Sea, on Friday, May 19. Members can attend the morning event at CDM, then take a short walk down Chestnut Street and enjoy this new movie about ocean life.
