Twelve members of Chattanooga’s Chickamauga Chapter National Society Daughters of the American Revolution attended the three-day 118th annual Tennessee NSDAR State Conference held at the Cool Springs Marriott in Franklin, Tn.
During the conference, members attended workshops, business sessions, an annual Regents’ Banquet and Memorial Service. Four hundred ninety-eight DAR members from around the state were in attendance.
Chapter Regent Gayle Burrows received the Chapter’s annual awards packet in recognition of the work of Chickamauga Chapter members during the past year. Among the award highlights: First Place for the most new Junior Members by application to a Tennessee Chapter; the Chapter’s donation of 30 braille flags for use of the visually impaired; Second Place in the state for the number of cards sent to active duty military members; donations made to NSDAR founded schools; the presentation of an exceptional program on American History; member’s work on a National Patriot Records research project; and the Chapter’s work with local Chattanooga schools.
Three Chickamauga Chapter members received diplomas for completing one of the NSDAR Leadership Training Courses. The Chapter was given the “Sparkler Award” for the cumulative number of members who have completed the Training Courses. Those receiving diplomas at the conference were: Cindy Dearing and Lynne Hill for the Member’s Course and Jane Hill for her completion of the Committee Leader’s Course.
