Eight members of the Chattanooga men’s and women’s cross country and track and field teams earned Academic All-District honors the College Sports Communicators (CSC) announced Wednesday afternoon.
Jonathan Boyd, a two-time Academic All-America, earned his fourth straight honor. He was joined by teammates Eric Mitchell and Jasper Wilson.
Imani Bryant, Emmy Davis, Lesley Green, Julianna McReynolds and Emma Russum all were named All-District.
Boyd graduated in December with his Master’s degree in electrical engineering.
Green, a four-time All-Southern Conference performer this season, claimed the title in the 10,000 meter run at the SoCon Outdoor Championships last month.
The 2023 teams recognize the nation’s top student-athletes for their combined performances in the athletic realm and in the classroom.
Academic All-District honorees advance to the CSC Academic All-America ballot. First-, second- and third-team Academic All-America women’s honorees will be announced June 28, followed by the men’s selections on June 29.
College Sports Communicators began the distinguished Academic All-America® program in 1952, and since then, has honored more than 38,000 deserving student-athletes from numerous sports across all divisions with these elite Academic All-America® scholar-athlete honors.
