Charles Kenneth “Kenny” Lawson, 66, of Ooltewah, passed away on Saturday, September 16, 2023.

Kenny, affectionately called “Granddaddy” was born and raised in Ooltewah. He graduated from Ooltewah High School Class of 1975 and was retired from the Hamilton County Board of Education as an electrician. Kenny loved his position at Ooltewah Youth Association where he served as Umpire in Charge. He was active with his bowling team and was known, appreciated, and loved in his neighborhood for his willingness to mow all of the neighborhood yards.

He is preceded in death by his father, Barney Lawson and his brother-in-law, Dave Barfield.

Surviving are his wife of 32 years, Donna Lawson; children, Charles Kasey (Brittany) Lawson, Christopher Kyle (Julia) Lawson and Randi Michelle (Martin K.) Holmes III; grandchildren Ellis, Ryder, Jett, Hattie-Chase, Madison, Meadow, Ronan and J.T,; mother, Joyce Lawson; brother, Kevin (Lori) Lawson; sisters, Kathy Barfield and Kelly (Jay) Williams; and many nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be from 5-8 p.m. on Tuesday, Sept. 19, at the funeral home.

Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, Sept. 20, at the funeral home with Rev. Drew Williams officiating. Burial will follow at Ooltewah Cemetery.

A Celebration of Kenny will follow at the Ooltewah Youth Association on Little Debbie from 2-4 p.m. on Wednesday, Sept. 20.
