Johnnie Ruth Stillwell, 83, of Chattanooga, passed away on September 16, 2023.

Johnnie was born on July 16, 1940, to the late Ernest and Agnes Harper. She was a graduate of City High School. She worked for the Chattanooga Municipal Airport for over 40 years. She also worked at the Tivoli Theatre in her earlier years. She loved the city of Chattanooga. Johnnie was an avid bowler and she enjoyed being outdoors, especially being around water and nature. She was a Christian and loved to watch Charles Stanley. Her favorite pastime was spent working in her yard. She loved all kinds of sports, but her favorites were football and baseball. Her favorite teams were the Atlanta Braves, the Tennessee Vols, and the Tennessee Titans. She was a dedicated homemaker and loved her four children, eight grandchildren, and two great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her aforementioned parents, her husband, Ray Stillwell.

Left behind to cherish her memory are her children, Terry (Karen) Stillwell, Tony Stillwell, Melanie (Ty) Womac, and Chris (Shannon) Stillwell, grandchildren, Casey (Dylan) Hurley; Shelby Stillwell; Travis Stillwell; Joshua (Rachel) Eidson; Jared Eidson; Micah Climer; Dakota Stillwell; Dustyn Stillwell, great-grandchildren, Rhett Lucas Eidson and Charlie Fain Hurley.

A Celebration of Johnnie’s Life will be held in the North Chapel of Chattanooga Funeral Home on Friday, Sept. 22, at 1 p.m. with Pastor Tom and Tiki Finlayson officiating. The family will receive friends on Thursday, Sept. 21, from 4-8 p.m. She will be laid to rest in the Hamilton Memorial Gardens.
