The Appearance Of Gentrification

  • Tuesday, September 26, 2023
After today's housing presentation the Unity Group continues to have grave reservations concerning the Westside Plan. There is no clear indicator as to how many residents have given an intent on returning and exactly what "good standing" exemplifies.

The economic impact study has not been publicly released.  A relocation plan has not been developed.

The overlap in downtown development is so confounding that it's difficult to distinguish which particular plan is being discussed at any time.
Will short term vacation rentals be a component of Westside Evolves? There is a scarcity in available housing and that begs to question where residents will be placed and for how long?

We can't make plans up on the fly and in piecemeal fashion. They must be done very thoroughly and very intently. This presentation opens up more questions than answers and has the appearance of gentrification in motion.
