Nantahala Outddoor Center Returns To Full Operation

As communities across North Carolina continue to recover from the impact of Hurricane Helene, we are pleased to share that Nantahala Outdoor Center’s main campus in Bryson City is fully operational. Adventures, including rafting, kayaking and zip-lining, have resumed as of Thursday.

In addition to welcoming guests, NOC is serving as a donation drop point to support impacted areas with essential supplies.

Officials invite guests to visit responsibly and explore the open areas, supporting local businesses as they recover. For travel, please check the latest road conditions at Drivenc.gov to ensure safe routes.

NOC Bryson City Adventures and Services

NOC’s Bryson City location, including Nantahala River Gorge adventures, lodging, and dining, is open and welcoming visitors. Available services include:

  • Nantahala Fully Guided Trips (rafting, kayaking, rentals)
  • Nantahala Zip Lines & Aerials
  • Rivers End Restaurant
  • The Outfitter’s Store
  • The General Store
  • Nantahala River Cabins & Lodging

Bryson City and the surrounding region, including local businesses like the Smoky Mountain Railroad, are open and ready for visitors. Responsible tourism is one way to help support the community’s recovery.

Support for Local Communities
NOC is supporting nearby mountain towns by accepting donations at the Bryson City Outfitter’s Store. Essential items like non-perishable food, bottled water, and cleaning supplies can be dropped off at the store. In-store purchases can be rounded up at checkout, with proceeds going directly to hurricane relief.
