TFP - You're Fired - And Response (4)

  • Sunday, November 10, 2024

Chattanooga Times Free Press – you’re fired! Since 3 a.m. Wednesday I have thought of a succinct way to end my long relationship as a subscriber. I will no longer subject myself to editorials disguised as news; ridicule from Clay Bennett’s insulting cartoons; wildly progressive left-side editorials; and right-side editorials reliably dismissive of Republican candidates and initiatives.

Since Walter Hussman’s acquisition of our two local papers, conservative-minded Chattanoogans have had to endure this journalistic abuse. Sadly, I suspect many have taken the same action I just took.

Inquiries with TFP executives as to why the Hussmans are so intent on running off their readers have fallen on deaf ears. A healthy local paper giving representation to all citizens is critical to our community – but there must be an appropriate balance.

I will happily renew my subscription at which time the TFP management is allowed to strike that balance.

So "some folks" only want freedom of speech, freedom of expression on their terms? This is America. It doesn't work that way.

Notice, they never call out the insulting cartoons against liberals, Democrats from the right side of TFP by those two - Ramirez and Benson. They never call out the conservative editorialist from the right side of TFP, and insults against the left. They want the American cake to be for them and them alone.

We lefties don't complain, wet our pants, threaten to end subscription over a cartoon or the writing of an editorialist from the right side of the paper. But those righty "conservatives" tend to go into a nuclear hissy-fitting rage to get their way. Then they whine, fit again if or when they're called out, and shout from their heavens, Freedom of Speech Y'all be pickin' on uz. Grow a pair. Y'all threatened, held your breath until you turned blue and nearly fainted from lack of air like a disordered toddler - get rid of Pam Sohn and David, I forget his last name because you didn't like their editorial writings.

To liberals, let us band together like these folks tend to do. For every threat they make to tfp to end their subscription, lets buy an extra one, even if we already subscribe. Let them know, the world is a much much larger place and doesn't revolve around their tiny insecure egos.

Mr. Decosimo, all I can say is what took you so long to drop the TFP, “Totally False Propaganda” masquerading as a news publication. They are as biased as that major news network in Atlanta started by Chattanooga’s own Teddy.

I’ve read a lot of opinions on this website from Ms. Washington over the years and I must say I believe this is the most mean spirited and down right nasty rebuttal that I’ve read of her responses. She even went so far and said and I quote to “Grow a Pair.”

I believe she is suffering from a double dose of TDS, (Tom Decosimo Syndrome and Trump Derangement Syndrome) since it appears she was evidently still seething from the election of Donald J. Trump.

Way ahead of you, Tom.

Freedom of speech ok by me. It is part of the greatness of our country. But so is freedom of choice to not pay for and turn off that which offends and lacks merit.

Maybe the funniest thing we’ll read all year is Brenda Washington claiming “we lefties don’t complain, wet our pants, threaten to end subscription….etc.”

Pretty sure she has never posted a single response on this medium whilst sitting in a dry pair of pants. And she obviously hasn’t watched the post election meltdowns from the millions of lefties who have indeed gone into a collective “nuclear hissy-fitting rage” over not getting their way.

To each his (or her) own as far what you choose to read, watch, or listen to for news and information. But to claim only one side is bothered by an obvious bias, left OR right, is comical.
