Chattanooga-native and pop star Usher Raymond spread holiday cheer by providing meals to CHI Memorial employees who worked Thanksgiving Day.
Employees at each of CHI Memorial’s three hospital campuses were treated to a traditional Thanksgiving meal prepared by Davis Wayne’s, a local minority-owned restaurant chosen by Usher.
Members of Usher’s family joined CHI Memorial executives in handing out the meals to employees. In a note that accompanied each meal, Usher shared that he “wanted to do my part by making sure you were all taken care of while you take care of others.” Usher said his Grandma Tina and godparents Nancy and James Lackey are his inspiration for his service to others.
Usher grew up in the Glenwood community, very close to CHI Memorial, and his Grandma Tina worked at CHI Memorial for many years.
