When you make your way to the voting polls Tuesday, Nov. 5, please make sure that you carefully go over your personal information on your ballot.
If for some reason you do not have your card then go online and look up your voter information and take a screenshot of it.
Verify that all of the information on your ballot is correct before signing it.
Most importantly your voter ID number. Check every number carefully.
In August I accidently went to the wrong location and when I arrived I filled out my voter registration card and I handed it along with my driver's license to the lady at the table. I did not have my voter ID card with me but I knew she could look me up. Which is what she did and then she filled in my voter ID number on my card. The thing is the number that she wrote was not my voter ID number. It belonged to Tonya L, and I am Tonya R.
Thankfully though the lady at my correct location caught the error and we started all over with a new registration card. If it was not caught and I had voted with that number then Tonya L would have been turned away if she had tried to vote anytime after and that is how easy it can happen.
They will ask you to go over the information on your ballot before signing it. Carefully go over every number on the ballot.
GoVoteTN is where you can find your voter information.
