Ashley Smith, 39, of Soddy Daisy, went home to be with the Lord unexpectedly on Tuesday, November 5, 2024.

She was a strong advocate for IDD patients and very involved with fundraising projects for IDD through benefit rides and poker runs with her motorcycle families. Highly independent, she fought for her freedom to enjoy life, especially around the water. Ashley was a DSP and Job Coach for Keith Care.

She was preceded in death by her father, Rev. Curtis Smith; grandparents, Agnes McCay, Arthur “Buck” McCay, Susie Morris, Oscar Morris, Martha Walker and brother, Kenny Smith.

Survivors are her mother, Ann McCay; step-mother, Wilma Smith; sister, Sharon McMurry; brother, Rev. Randy Smith and wife, Cindy; Wayne Smith and wife, Susie, Shawn Gilstad and husband, Dr. Denny; sister, Natasha Smith; uncles, Jeff Amos and wife, Marie; Van Patterson; Chub Patterson; niece and nephew, Roxanne and Sepp Smith; many cousins and extended family.

The family will receive friends on Friday, November 8, 2024, from 4-8 p.m. and Saturday, November 9, 2024, from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. at the funeral home. Services will be on Saturday, November 9, 2024, at 12 p.m. in the funeral home chapel with Rev. David Neal and Rev. Randy Smith officiating. Burial will follow at Mount Liberty Baptist Church Cemetery in McCaysville, Georgia.
