Myrtle Violet Wardlaw, born Sept. 11, 1928 to John and Agda Rehn in Littlefork, Mn., has passed into the presence of her dear Lord & Savior. Myrtle’s promotion to heaven took place on January 22, 2024. Myrtle and her four siblings grew up on the Rehn farm.
At the age of 18, Myrtle trusted Jesus as her Savior. By the time she was 22, she was living in the middle of the Amazon Jungle sharing the gospel of grace with the Baniua people. After 10 years of serving the Baniua people as a single missionary, she married her prince charming, Keith Wardlaw, in 1961. Together they sacrificially lived to reach the Yanomami people with the gospel.
Myrtle was predeceased by her siblings; her husband, Keith Wardlaw; and her only daughter. Lorraine Graves.
She is survived by her son, Brian (Sherri) Wardlaw; her son-in-law, Nathan Graves; her grandchildren, Josiah (Charis) Graves, Justin Graves, Lana (John) Reeve, Joshua (Autumn) Wardlaw and Jeremy (Kim) Wardlaw; and her eight great-grandchildren.
Myrtle’s sweet and gracious manner together with her sacrificial life has forever made it’s imprint on her family and all who knew her. Myrtle, you ran your race well right up to the finish line.
