George Cleckler Hewitt II (Rusty), age 52, of Rock Spring passed away on Wednesday, February 14, 2024.

Rusty was a loving husband, son, father, and grandfather and will be missed by all that knew and loved him. He enjoyed metal detecting, Tennessee Vols football, reading and studying the Civil War era and had a great knowledge of the Civil War campsites in our area. He had the pleasure of watching and being part of drag racing with his son Riley. If you ever got to talk to Rusty about any of these hobbies, well, let’s just say you may have spent an hour or two listening and watching him get excited talking about it.

Rusty is survived by his wife of 30 years, Kim; son, Riley; mother, Maryln Hewitt; sister, Kristy (Shannon) Lawson, two granddaughters, Caslyn and Cecily; and several nieces and nephews.

A funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. on Monday, Feb. 19, in the Wilbanks Memorial Chapel with Rev. Lloyd Wheaton officiating.

Interment will take place at LaFayette Memory Gardens.

Pallbearers are Mike Parker, Pat Brannon, Chris Green, Stan Day, Chuck Hewitt, and Toby Hewitt.

Family will receive friends from 3 to 6 p.m. on Sunday, Feb. 18, at the funeral home.

Arrangements are by Wallis-Wilbanks Funeral Home, LaFayette.
